Weigelas, Deutzias, Forsythias, Mock Orange, Spiraeas andLilacs flower on the wood of the preceding years growth, hence theshrubs should not be pruned in Winter cr Spring, but in June, afterthey have finished flowering, when the old wood should be shortenedor cut out, thus promoting the growth^ofthe young wood, which is toflower the following season.
