True-colour Voyager 2 photograph of Saturn taken on August 4, 1981, from a distance of 21 million kilometres (13 million miles). Three of Saturn's icy satellites (white at centre and bottom left) are visible; closest to the planet surface is Tethys, followed by Dione, with Rhea furthest out. The dark brown spot on Saturn's southern hemisphere is the shadow of Tethys.
