Candles in the windows of an old German style school building. The candles mark the anniversary of the end of WW2
On the evening of the 4th of May, danes celebrate the capitulation of the German forces at the end of WW2 with lights in the windows, mark the end of the ordered darkening of windows during nighttime. This is the Ahlmann School in the centre of Sønderborg. There is a total of 500 candles lit. in this building.
