Van Kampen's 13I mm. $, however, had the posterior lobes of the carapace meeting ('sogar miteinander verwachsen oder verklebt') in the middle line, and extending backwards to cover half the abdomen. This shows the danger of regarding the carapace length as a con- stant specific character, and of utilizing it to separate species in a key.
