The Pleasure Beach Casino is a Grade 2 reinforced concrete listed building, dating to 1937-40 and designed in the International Modern Style by Joseph Emberton for Leonard Thompson, owner of the Pleasure Beach. Despite its name the Casino, rather than gambling, houses a restaurant and other catering facilities. The Nickelodeon image of Dora the Explorer, Boots the Monkey and Squidward Tentacles are attached to lamp-posts above the promenade.
