Plein, The Hague, The Netherlands. Wednesday 21st April, 2021. Amnesty International of the Netherlands staged (120) person demonstration this evening and a larger gathering in Amsterdam. They demand for the Dutch government to immediately call President Putin, and free political activist Alexei Navalny. President Vladimir Putin is under international pressure to free Navalny from a (three-and-a-half) year prison sentence for parole violations, charges he and his team say are trumped-up and politically motivated. In addition to Navalny, concern is also mounting on Russia, as a military buildup of troops, tanks, missiles and naval landing crafts are deployed toward the Ukrainian border on a scale not seen since its invasion in 2014. Navalny, a (44) year-old lawyer from Butyn’n, Russia and an anti-corruption activist, archived international recognition by organizing anti-government demonstrations and publicly condemning Putin’s and his corrupt regime. Navalny, now on his 21st day of a hunger strike, was transferred to a prison hospital in Valdimir, about 180km (112 miles) east of Moscow. Navalny independent civilian doctor was again denied access to him, amid growing concern for his failing health.
