Erwin Rommel, a memento of the Carpathian Corps, 1916. A model of a wooden mountain pack (pack frame) with skis (one point damaged), ski poles, ice axe, staff, snow shoes, crampons, ropes, bed roll, Edelwei» and a grenade with the inscription "1916" with a photo of snow shoers and the dedication, "Herrn Oberlt. Erwin Rommel zum Andenken an seiner Schneeschuher der 2. Komp. Weihnachten 1916" (To First Lieutenant Erwin Rommel in Appreciation from his Snow Shoers of the 2nd. Company, Christmas 1916). Height 28 cm. Included a picture post card "Deutsche Schneeschuhtruppen auf Erkundung" (German Snow Shoe Troops on Reconnaissance) with Rommel's personal Carpathian Corps insignia attached, and reverse a typed message to Captain Erwin Rommel at the Dresden Infantry School. There are also newspaper clippings of the Carpathian Corps, photos, and envelopes from Rommel's possessions. Rommel fought from the end of 1916 to the fall of 1917 against Romania in the so-called "Carpathian Corps". His 2nd Company was very successful,
