Shellacsolutions are excellent for forming hard water-proof trims, but the high price of the material,together with the fact that methylated spirit isused as a solvent, has driven them out of themarket. By far the most satisfactory products, how-ever—those which meet the requirements verywell from all points of view—are certain pitchesand asphalt solutions.
