Andrea Nahles, the leader of the parliamentary party of the SPD in the Bundestag (German Parliament) has been elected as the new chairwoman of the SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany). She won with 66% against her opponent Simone Lange in a contested election. She is the first women to lead the party in its 150 year long history.
