Under thefe circum-ftances fhe came to town, and confulted different gentlemen of thefaculty, who all agreed as to the cafe, but differed refpeding thetreatment, whether the operation mould be immediately per-formed; or, as the woman enjoyed good health, and as it wasimpoflible to afcertain the parts which the placenta adhered to, _ orwhich it might be neceffary to injure, in the complete extirpationof the foetus, that the operation fhould be deferred until fome-thing like an external impofthumation fhould appear, that naturefhould thus point out the place and manner in which extractionfhould be performed.
