The grave of a British Army soldier, who died in 1762, lies among the overgrown and largely forgotten graves of European settlers in Thalassery (formerly Tellicherry) in Kerala, India. The East India Company established a trading post here and built a stone fort in 1708, making it one of the oldest British settlements on the subcontinent.
