But he continued, however, to offi-ciate as the presiding judge of the courts until 1760 ;then he was obliged to retire to his farm in Heidelbergtownship adjoining the Tulpehocken road, nearly four-teen miles west from Reading, and there he died on thethirteenth day of July, of that year, in the sixty-thirdyear of his age.
