WHITE. Duchess—Bunch medium to large, shouldered, compact; berries medium, pale greenish yellow, \vith whitish bloom: flesh tender, juicy, sweet, spicy, rich and of' excellent quality, lasting a long time after being gathered. Ripens soon after Concord. Elvira—Very vigorous, strong, healthy grower: white, bunch and berries medium size, very compact and productive', often growing four and five clusters on a single cane. Ripens about with Catawba ; very hardy. Em pi re State—We consider it has no superior, if it has an equal among all the hardy white or light colored grapes that have ever been intro- duced. The vine is a remark- ably healthy, strong grower, and very hardy. The clus- ters are exceedingly large, (from six to ten inches long and shouldered): berry, med- ium to large, nearly'round, white with a slight tinge of yellow, with a heavy white bloom,rendering it most beau- tiful ; tender, juicy, sweet, rich, spicy and pure flavored, adheres to the stem with great tenacity,does notcrack,ripens early (with Moore's Early)..
