There is an abundance of stock but it is of only ordinary quality, although there are still some very good carnations to be had. The indoor crop ot sweet peas has practically disappeared with the last few days of warm weather, but outdoor peas have made their appearance, so that there is little danger of any failure in supply. There is every indication of the approach of that period of lassitude which generally arrives at the close of the commencement season. However, there are some wakeful per- sons in our ranks. Commission-man Kasting's morning hour was 9:30 but Park Commissioner Kasting and Benedict Kasting arrive at 8. It is a mooted question as to whether it is the official or household duties which cause the "dif- ference in the ; Horticultural features are fast taking shape at the Pan-American Exposition and Messrs. Ulrich and Scott are very busy. The latter has been in the west for a few days. Recent visitors were E. C. Ludwig, Allegheny, Pa., and Max Beattus, Day- ton, O. W. A. Des Moines, la.—Wm. G.
