Pimk or purple flowers of astilbe in a garden, Astilbe chinensis

The Chinese Pleiades is a perennial herbaceous plant. It reaches, as a wild form, growth heights of 50 to 100 centimeters, cultivars even above. The underground rhizomes survive the winter and are dark brown in color. The stem is smooth. The flowering period is from August (June in China) to September. The Chinese Pale is found in China, Japan, Korea, and eastern Siberia in forests and forest edges, in meadows, and along streams. In China, it thrives at elevations from 400 to 3600 meters.
