It is true the natives attributethis fall to the blessing of God, which may be trueenough ; but the secondary cause is cultivation. And Ianticipate that if peace and quiet continue, and a fewmore such seasons as the last occur, a great part ofthat which was formerly a desert will become arable orpasture land.
