The grandfather of Mr. Ammermanof this review came from Virginia to Bourboncounty. The maternal grand-father of the subject was Jonathan Reed, whocame to Bourbon county from Virginia aboutthe time they all came across the mountains inwagons. Air. Ammermans father was rearedin Bourbon county, where he obtained a limitededucation. He came to Harrison county, mar-ried and started farming where the subjectnow lives. He prospered and at the time ofhis death was the possessor of four hundredacres of fine land. He built a large brickhouse in 1835 and was a breeder of Shorthorncattle and mules. He was a good man as wellas a successful one, and he and his wife weremembers of the Christian church. Daniel Reed Ammerman was reared on thefarm and received his education in the districtschool. He was eighteen when his father diedand he farmed his mot
