Austin, Texas USA, January 11, 2013: Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery construct an intricate, highly patterned large-scale sand mandala using million of grains of colored sand at the University of Texas at Austin Blanton Museum of Art. A sand mandala is ritualistically destroyed once it has been completed and its accompanying ceremonies and viewing are finished to symbolize the Buddhist doctrinal belief in the transitory nature of material life.
