Two regime soldiers who were captured by Karenni resistance forces (KNDF) watch video footage with a mobile phone in an undisclosed area in Kayah state. Two members of Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 517, a unit under the command of the Military Operations Command (MOC-2), were captured following a clash with the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force-KNDF in SaLoneTaung village, Shan State’s Pinlaung Township in May 2023. More than two thousand junta troops were killed and 41 captured in the last two years, said the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force-KNDF.
