A miquelet flintlock rifle, Ottoman, end of the 17th century. Twist Damascus barrel with a smooth bore in 18 mm calibre and a cannon muzzle. The barrel is octagonal, merging to 16-sided, then expands upward like a roof. The top of the barrel is richly set with silver arabesque, flower, and knotted ribbon-shaped inlays. Chiselled, fine Miquelet lock with a master's mark on the lock plate. Reworked, wooden full stock (minor repairs) with brass, mother-of-pearl, and green bone inlays in the butt.
