There were serious questions to be con-sidered, prominent amongst which was the problemof how to attempt an auxiliary effort which shouldbe helpful to all previously existing agencies andinjurious to none. Twenty or more societies werealready at work in the field ; and although theirefforts were almost entirely confined to the seaboardprovinces, they were rendering much-needed andvery important service, upon which GOD had set theseal of His marked approval.
