As the severe drought in California continues for a fourth straight year, water levels in the state's lakes and reservoirs are reaching historic lows. Cachuma Lake, the primary source of drinking water for about one quarter of a million residents on the Central Coast, was at 15 percent capacity as of November 19, 2015. Water levels at the reservoir have dropped more than 80 feet since 2011, and a sizable part of the muddy lakebed is now exposed (Scott London/Alamy Live News)
