Aviation Machinist's Mate Second Class Colby Clevenger from HM-15, monitors the towing of a Q-14 side scanning sonar device. The Q-14 is towed by a MH-53 helicopter and is used to detect mines. This is in support of Exercise KERNEL BLITZ 2001. KERNEL BLITZ is a large-scale amphibious landing exercise taking place in the vicinity of Camp Pendleton, Calif.
