Estancia La Quinta: the wooden gate to the Patagonian steppe, locked with chain. El Chaltén, Patagonia, Argentina

In Patagonia (Argentina) every estancia is surrounded by vast steppe lands, surrounded by very long fences that extend for miles and miles. Along these fences, built with metal cables pulled between wooden poles, there are rare gates. Estancias are the Patagonian equivalent of large farms. In the small village of El Chaltén, famous for its mountains of the Cordillera de los Andes, including the legendary Cerro Torre which is considered the most difficult peak to climb in the world, there are several estancias for over a hundred years. One of them is the Estancia La Quinta (1905), which has a vast extension and is located just outside the village; currently it also offers hotel accommodation and restaurant service in a real Patagonian environment, very natural and quiet.
