The house of the Soviet hero lieutenant Konstantin Konstantinovich Isaev in the Old Town of the Kremlin in Kolomna, Russia


Isaev Konstantin Konstantinovich (February 12, 1923 - September 26,1943) - a platoon commander of the 203rd Guards Rifle Regiment (70th Guards Rifle Division, 13th Army. Central Front). Guard lieutenant. He was born in Kolomna in a working class family. In the summer of 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army. In 1942 he was to the front. During the first battles he was wounded. After leaving the hospital he completed the course for junior lieutenant. He returned to the front in 1943 where he particularly distinguished himself along with 5 other guards during the crossing of the river Dnieper. On September 20, 1943 the commander was wounded, but continued to fight and his unit killed more than 100 Nazi soldiers (up to a dozen by him). He was brought to a hospital on September 26 where he died of his wounds. He was buried in the village Otash, Chernobyl district, Kyiv region. Guard lieutenant Konstantin Konstantinovich Isayev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously. He was also awarded the Order of Lenin and the Red Star.
