Kids in rural Rajasthan, India
taken from "Our first stop of the day was a small village in the middle of nowhere. Our visit to the village was the first time foreigners/ tourists had been taken there. The people were amazing to us, showing us how they made clay pots, rugs and other things they made to sell, then we visited two classes in a school. Kids were following us all around the village, and were ecstatic to see foreigners. The whole visit was an amazing experience, and I can honestly say it was one of the greatest travelling moments I’ve ever had. I (and everybody else) absolutely loved seeing a part of real, rural India; the people were often shy, but as soon as you greeted them with a ‘Namaste’ and a smile, they started grinning from ear to ear, and were then much more forthcoming. It was a humbling experience meeting people who didn’t seem to have much in the way of material possessions, but still appeared content and happy with life. Seeing homes with the bare necessities made me feel a bit silly, carrying around my SLR camera, iPad, among other things. It reminded me one again how lucky I am just to be from somewhere which gives me the opportunity to travel and experience things like this."
