Ophelia has been and is much in de- mand, but quite scarce. Sunburst, too, was not equal to the call. Sweet peas are more plentiful and some extra fancy Spencers brought as high as $ per hundred while the demand was large. Violets are selling clean at $1 perl hundred, but are expected to become plentiful, especially if the fine weather continues. The bulk of this stock comes from Kirkwood. Orchids sold fairly well last week at the re- duced price of 50 cents for cattleyas and 25 cents for cjT)ripediums. Paper Whites are becoming a glut, but lilies are scarce and command good prices. Plumosus sells well, as do most other greens. Various Notes. The St. Louis Florists' Club will hold its first meeting of the new year, Thurs- day afternoon, .January 11. The oflScers* meeting will be held this week to decide where the meeting will be held and to map out an interesting program.
