Alms Bowls at Bangkok Monk Bowl Village, Ban Bat


Monk’s Bowl Village, or Ban Bat, is located close to the Golden Mount Temple. This small community originally migrated after the collapse of the Ayutthaya Kingdom when Bangkok was during the reign of King Rama I late in the 17th century. Here you will find Thai Monks using traditional alms bowls to receive donations of food in the early morning. Each bowl is made from 8 pieces of steel representing the eightfold path of the Lord Buddha’s
