Tomb Frieze with scenes from The Iliad.

Tomb Frieze with scenes from The Iliad. On the left Trojan Hector's body is being ritually dragged around Troy after he was killed by the Greek Achilles in retribution for killing Achilles friend Patroclus. Aphrodite and Apollo, however, preserve the body from corruption and mutilation. On the right, kneeling before Achilles who has turned his head away, is Priam pleading for the return of his son Hector's body for burial with traditional Trojan funeral rites.
