He had been assistanttreasurer for twenty years and previous tothat time had eight years of practical millwork. Frank Gutmann was made agent in I 865at the age of thirty-three. His thoroughknow^ledge of woolen manufacturing hadbeen acquired in Saxony, and had beensupplemented by valuable experience in thiscountry. He was a man of the strictest in-tegrity and the highest ideals, of remark-able constructive and executive ability, en-ergetic, zealous, and untiring in his devotionto the interests of the Company. Under hismanagement the reputation of the Worumbo. Plant of Worumbo Manufacturing Company Lisbon Falls, who with John G. Tebbets ofLisbon and Galen C. Moses of Bath, consti-tuted the first board of directors. Thethoroughness and attention to detail whichhas always been a characteristic of theWorumbo is attested by the condition ofthese early structures today. Oliver Moses was the first president ofthe Company, and the largest continued the financial and official headof the corporation until his death in success of the company was in nosmall measure due to the sagacity, sound-ness of judgment, and upright character ofits first president. Galen C. Moses, thefirst treasurer, held his office for over fiftyyears, until his death in 1915. He was suc-ceeded by his nephew, the present treasurer,Oliver Moses, who was well qualified for products for excellence in quality was firmlyestablished. He was at the same time abuilder and develope
