A mayfly, order ephemeroptera, caught in a spider’s web above a pool on the Dorset Stour River near Sturminster Newton Dorset England UK GB. When mayflies hatch they can do so in large numbers and trout feast on them. In angling circles this period is often known as Duffer’s Fortnight as the trout will take imitation mayflies and it is deemed that even an incompetent angler can catch a trout during this time.
