A fully grown saltwater male crocodile covered in green algae waiting for his catch during feeding time at the Malcolm Douglas wildlife park near Broome in Western Australia. The saltwater crocodile or Saltie as it is affectionately known in Australia is the largest reptile in the world and a native of the northern coastal areas of Australia and southeast Asia. The 70 crocs were born and bred in the park and live in the main enclosed algae lake within the 12 acre park. The park was created by founder Malcolm Douglas in 1983 as a crocodile research park. In 2008, the park was officially opened to the public. Feeding time for the crocodiles is at 3pm daily and a popular event for visitors to come and see, and to hear the awesome sound of those fearsome jaws.
