Reclining Venus attributed to Lambert Sustris (c. 1515-after 1568) Born in Amsterdam, Sustris spent most of his career in Italy in Venice. He was a close associate of the leading painter Titian. In this work, Sustris used as a model one of Titian's most celebrated paintings, the so called Venus of Urbino, but he gave his figure as elegant, more mannered pose.
