An aerial reconnaissance photograph of the Majdanek camp located outside of Lublin. Majdanek was one of the largest nazi camps. Originally used as a forced labour camp, it was used extensively as an extermination centre during the nazi occupation of Poland. It was captured almost intact and was an important source of evidence of the deliberate policy of genocide.
