Numerous archaeological remains, connected to the Second Temple, have been excavated under the auspices of the City of David Foundation. Israeli archaeologists and the official State Comptroller's report accuse the Waqf of engaging in illegal renovation and excavation work destroying remains of Jewish buildings and artifacts in an attempt to deliberately erase any historic Jewish link to the Temple Mount.
