The caput angulare has been described above. The caput zygomaticus, or zygomaticus minor arises from thezygomatic bone and is inserted into the margin of the orbicularis orismuscle. The m. caninus, or levator anguli oris, arises from the canine fossaof the maxilla and is inserted into the orbicularis oris and the skin ofthe angle of the mouth. The m. zygomaticus (major) arises from the zygomatic arch and isinserted into the skin and into the orbicularis oris muscle. The m. triangularis, or depressor anguli oris, arises from theoblique line of the mandible and is inserted into the skin and theorbicularis oris muscle.
