A Persian kard with gold inlay, circa 1800 A sturdy wootz-Damascus blade with a cut, partially gold-inlaid back. The base of the blade, ferrule, and grip frame are richly inlaid in gold with Koranic surahs. Somewhat stained (one side cracked) walrus ivory grip scales. Wooden scabbard covered with brown shagreen leather and with an ivory button on the chape. Dagger length cm.
