Buenos Aires III. 4:484),it is found in Uruguay and Argentina, and he thinks that Maldonado, near Montevideo,is the type locality; we know only plants in cultivation. Cereus donatii (Schumann, Monatsschr. Kakteenk. 13: 185. 1903), first listed in Haageand Schmidts Catalogue, seems to belong here. Cereus grusonianus Weingart (Monats-schr. Kakteenk. 15: 54. 1905) is apparentlya race of this species, judging from the descrip-tion and from small plants at the New YorkBotanical Garden. Illustrations: Cact. Journ. 2: 135;Curtiss Bot.
