Hundreds of lawyers met in Old Palace Yard opposite Parliament to protest against proposed changes to legal aid which will see large corporations bidding for legal aid defence. With a jazz band and pallbearers a coffin representing the death of justice, a funeral process ion made its way through the crowd prior to addresses by several legal figures from both the legal profession and from groups who have in the past required legal aid. Dave Rowntree, rockstar drummer of the band Blur, now a criminal lawyer was amongst those who addressed the crowd.
