Northern firmoss (Huperzia selago). This plant is a species of lycophyte, belonging to the division Lycopodiophyta. Lycophytes are the oldest living lineage of vascular plants. They reproduce by shedding spores from areas on their leaves. Photographed in Hafnarberg, Iceland, in June.
