Stock is getting more plentiful, especially carnations, which are also improving in quality. Business continues to improve. Some exceptionally fine mums are coming to this market. Various Notes. The Minnesota State Florists' Asso- ciation met in Minneapolis, at the Park Board greenhouses, October 15. A good representation from St. Paul was in attendance. The general committee of the flower show met at Holm & Olson's store, Octo- ber 16, and all reported progress. August Swanson, who was formerly of this city but has now withdrawn from the florists' business, will act in the capacity of superintendent of the show. The members of the committee consider themselves fortunate in securing so able a superintendent. A new firm will enter the field here soon. Messrs. Hoffman and SuUivi^n, formerly of L. L. May & Co., have leased a store at 18 "West Sixth street and expect to be ready for business by November 1. C. E. Schae
