Plazomicin antibiotic drug, molecular model
Plazomicin drug molecule. Ball-and-stick molecular model of plazomicin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic. This drug, sold under the brand name Zemdri, is typically used to treat complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs). However, it is only prescribed to patients where there are no other antibiotic alternatives. It functions by decreasing bacterial protein synthesis. Its chemical formula is C25H48N6O10. Atoms are represented as spheres with conventional colour coding: hydrogen (white), carbon (black), oxygen (red), and nitrogen (blue).
