Today (16/02/14) Royal Navy personnel from HMS Illustrious piled up walls of sandbags delivered from the Environment Agency, to help protect housing along the riverbank in Romsey, Hampshire. Many of the sailors helping today were onboard the ship in December when HMS Illustrious was tasked to assist in Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief operations in the Philippines. More than 300 Royal Navy sailors have been building up flood defences in Romsey, Hampshire as the River Test reaches critical levels.
