The flowers of this handsome variety are of the largest size—10 to 12 inches in diam- eter—-of a bright violet hue, resembling in color those of N. Gigantea, excepting the bases of the petals and the stamens, which are deep yellow. The buds are long, pointed and irregularly striped, with chocolate red. Leaves bronzy-green, slightly blotched red. § each. Nymphaea Scutifolia. ( Versicolor, Radiator.} A distinct variety ; flowers large, bright blue ; petals white at base, sweet-scented; flower buds spotted with reddish- brown ; a strong grower and free bloomer. From the Cape of Good Hope. 75 cts. each. Nymphaea Zanzibarensis. This is indeed a royal lily ; flowers very large ; deep purple ; sepals deep green on the outside and purple within ; margin red. This is one of the most beautiful and free-flowering of all Water Lilies, exquisitely fragrant. The stock offered is guaranteed to be the true dark variety. Native of Zanzibar. (See cut.) § each.
