Fungus sporangiophores. Macrophotograph of the sporangiophores of a Pilobolus sp. fungus growing on horse manure. The sporangiophore is a specialised hypha, at the end of which is a sporangium (black). This is a sac-like container for the fungal spores. When the spores are mature, the sporagium is broken and the spores escape. Magnification at 35mm size.
