'Prospect from the Terrace at St Germain', France, 1879. Saint Germain-en-Laye is famous for its 12th-century chateau, and for its stone terrace with a view over the Seine valley and Paris in the distance. Over 2 kilometres long, the terrace was built by Andre Le Notre in the 1670s.
