The photos are of Mill Road military cemetery at Thiepval Wood. Most of the burials are a result of the first day of the Battle of the Somme on 1 July 1916. Many grave stones are laid flat close to the Cross of Sacrifice due to the extensive tunnelling by both sides during the war
