The Sun. Composite image of the Sun made by combining observations in three wavelengths (171, 195 and 284 angstroms) of ultraviolet (UV) light to reveal solar features unique to each wavelength, which are colour-coded red, yellow and blue. Imaged by the Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (EIT) on the SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) spacecraft, on May 1998.
