VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (July 11, 2019) As part of a Defense Support Of Civil Authorities load exercise (DSCA LOADEX), Landing Craft Air Cushion 84 departs Assault Craft Unit 4 en route to the amphibious docking ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50). DSCA LOADEX is designed to train and familiarize Sailors and Marines with rapid response capabilities following man-made and natural disaster, such as industrial accidents, hurricanes and earthquakes that affect both local civilian and military populations.
