A German cartridge box for a wheellock puffer, circa 1580 Semicylindrical body made from walnut with fine inlays made from engraved bone. The interior hollowed for two rounds. Iron furniture, the hinged lid with spring-loaded lock. At the sides two rectangular carrying loops. On the bottom dot marks, probably an old armoury numbering. A small replaced imperfection on the original upper side.
